Lexus Unveil the All-New, All-Electric Lexus TZ, a six-seater SUV launching in Europe in 2027

Inside the all-new Lexus TZ, luxury takes on a new meaning. Designed as a sophisticated “driving lounge,” the fully electric SUV combines exceptional space, advanced comfort technology and whisper-quiet refinement to create a truly premium travel experience.

THE ALL-NEW, ALL-ELECTRIC TZ PRESENTED BY LEXUS

The 'Driving Lounge'

Step inside the all-new Lexus TZ and the focus immediately shifts from conventional SUV design to something far more refined: a sophisticated “driving lounge” crafted around comfort, tranquillity and luxury.  Six passengers are treated to generous room and premium seating, with individual chairs in the second row and impressive head and leg room even in the rear seats. The absence of a traditional fuel tank allows the third-row seating position to sit lower, ensuring adults can travel in genuine comfort while also making access easier with thoughtful features including walk-in switches, assist grips and illuminated tread plates. Combined with the naturally smooth and whisper-quiet refinement of an electric drivetrain, the TZ delivers a calm, first-class travel experience for every occupant.

Luxury and innovation continue throughout the cabin with a collection of advanced comfort and design features unique to Lexus. Newly developed front seats use a lightweight split-construction design to create a slimmer, sculpted appearance while improving support and long-distance comfort. Heated and ventilated seating extends across the front and second rows, with available third-row seat heating. The minimalist dashboard introduces Lexus’s new Responsive Hidden Switch technology, seamlessly blending controls into the trim until illuminated by the approach of a hand, while still providing satisfying tactile feedback. Finishing touches such as softly closing doors, innovative bamboo-layered trim panels and an available 21-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system elevate the ambience even further, transforming the TZ into a luxury retreat as much as a vehicle.

Human-Centred Design Cockpit

The all-new Lexus TZ continues Lexus’s driver-focused design philosophy with a beautifully refined cockpit that enhances visibility, comfort and confidence behind the wheel. A hood-less 12.3-inch asymmetric combimeter and slim, horizontally aligned instrument panel create a wider, more open forward view, helping the driver feel more connected to the road ahead. Even the shaping of the front pillars has been carefully engineered to improve sightlines when cornering, demonstrating the meticulous attention to detail that defines the TZ experience. The result is a cabin that feels modern, uncluttered and effortlessly intuitive.

As a fully electric SUV, the TZ places even greater emphasis on cabin refinement, recognising that unwanted wind and road noise become more noticeable without a conventional engine. To create what Lexus describes as a true “sense of silence,” extensive soundproofing measures have been integrated throughout the vehicle. Strategic use of sound-absorbing materials, thicker window glass, improved aerodynamic door mirrors and additional insulation all contribute to delivering the quietest cabin environment of any Lexus SUV to date. Enhancing passenger comfort further is a new dedicated Comfort drive mode, designed specifically to deliver a smoother experience for rear-seat occupants.

EXTERIOR DESIGN: SUV PRESENCE WITH ELEVATED REFINEMENT

The exterior design of the Lexus TZ introduces a fresh interpretation of luxury SUV styling, combining commanding road presence with sleek sophistication. Rather than relying on the aggressive, performance-focused cues often seen in large SUVs, Lexus has created a more elegant and refined aesthetic guided by its “Provocative Simplicity” design philosophy. The result is a vehicle that feels both modern and distinctive, with clean surfaces, sharp lines and carefully sculpted proportions giving the TZ a confident yet understated character. Its elongated side profile, semi-flush door handles and bold aerodynamic wheel designs further enhance the sense of dynamism, while high-quality surfacing and textured detailing showcase Lexus craftsmanship from every angle.

Beyond its visual impact, every element of the TZ’s design has been engineered with aerodynamic efficiency in mind, helping the all-electric SUV achieve an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.27. At the front, Lexus’s signature spindle body design is reimagined in a smooth, unified form that projects strength and confidence, complemented by striking twin-L light signatures for the daytime running lights and indicators. The rear design continues the sleek theme with a lowered roofline, tapered cabin and pronounced rear wings that create a wide, planted stance without compromising interior space or comfort. Distinctive L-shaped rear lamps and bold three-dimensional detailing ensure the TZ is instantly recognisable on the road.

The Lexus TZ Driving Experience?

The Lexus TZ has been engineered to deliver the refined confidence and control that define the Lexus Driving Signature, combining comfort, stability and driver engagement in an all-electric SUV. Developed through Lexus’s meticulous tuning process, the TZ benefits from extensive structural reinforcement and a highly rigid global architecture platform that enhances both ride quality and handling precision. A specially developed suspension setup, available Dynamic Rear Steering and Lexus’s intelligent DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system work together to provide smooth, composed performance in every driving situation, while also improving agility and manoeuvrability with a surprisingly tight turning circle. Advanced electronically controlled braking and adjustable regenerative braking further enhance driver confidence with natural, responsive pedal feel and seamless transitions through corners. For those seeking a more engaging experience behind the wheel, Interactive Manual Drive introduces a virtual eight-speed transmission with paddle-shift control, simulated engine sound and tactile feedback, bringing a unique multi-sensory connection to the electric driving experience.

SAFETY AND DRVIER ASSISTANCE

Pre-Collision System

The Pre-Collision System’s capabilities have been increased so that it can recognise and respond to a wider range of moving and static obstacles in an expanded area ahead of the vehicle. It can now operate at shorter vehicle-to-vehicle distances for collision warnings and braking intervention and recognise a greater range of hazards at intersections.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control has a new Eco Run Mode that helps maximise power efficiency. This assesses the vehicle ahead for its impact on reducing the aerodynamic drag effect on the TZ, measured in five stages, so the driver can recognise the best vehicle to follow to preserve the car’s energy. When using this mode, acceleration response is moderated for relaxed and efficient vehicle tracking.

Lane Change Assist

Driver support on the highway is enhanced with upgrades to the Lane Change Assist system. This now provides quicker and smoother lane changes and operates across a wider speed range.
